Key Information

The name ‘Shatterlocks’ derives from the sheep pens that existed on the hillside where the original school was built in 1948. Those buildings were completely replaced in 2004 and our new facilities provide a stimulating environment for everyone working here.

As an Infant and Nursery school, we have two complete Key Stages - the Foundation stage [ages 3-5yrs] and Key Stage 1 [ages 5-7yrs]. Our Early Years staff ensure the children learn and achieve through a lively curriculum - the provision of a wealth of learning experiences and opportunities giving a strong sound basis for learning at every stage.

The early skills are encouraged and developed by the experienced staff in Key Stage 1 through a cross curricular approach. Our inclusive and caring approach enables every child to positively develop their understanding and learning and to enjoy all their achievements.

We welcome and encourage parental involvement in the children’s education as it is essential for ‘home’ and ‘school’ to work together so that your children make the most of their time with us.
