Information about our Nursery

 

The nursery offers both 15 hours and 30 hours per week during term times, depending on individual funding. These are provided in either a morning, an afternoon or all-day sessions. The Nursery offers an early drop for a £2 Charge. Extra sessions can be offered depending on Nursery availability. These sessions will have an extra charge of £15 for 3 hours. We do not accept children under 3 years of age.

• AM: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 12:00
• PM: Monday to Friday 12:00 to 15:00
• All-day: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 15:00

Please see our Nursery Admissions policy below. Please note that Shatterlocks Nursery is open term time only in line with Shatterlocks Infant School and will be closed for bank holidays and up to 5 inset days (staff training days) per year.

Term 2

Colours and Materials

Key Vocabulary: Colour – red, yellow, blue, green, purple, pink, black, white. Mixing, explore,  

Senses- see, touch, smell, taste, hear  

Seasons, Autumn, natural, leaves, sticks, crunch, fall, changes 

Materials- feel, soft, hard, bumpy, smooth, round, curved, spiky.  

Winter – cold, snow, ice, freeze, freezing, gloves, scarves, hat 

Christmas – glitter, sequins, sparkle  

Wow moments: real bear hunt / Messy pumpkin time / Family fun afternoons / skittles rainbow experiment / Christmas concert 

We’re going on a Bear Hunt/Autumn / scarecrows wedding (Literacy);  

Fireworks / Three Little Pigs / Remembrance (Maths);  

Brown Bear Brown Bear/Children in Need – including parent fun afternoon (Literacy); Fri 17th Nov CIN 

Rainbow/ Multi colour / Elmer (Maths); 4 days  

Winter week – snow / snow man / Ice  

Christmas decorations and cards / Dear Santa (Assessed writing); Christmas/Parents concert and fun activities (Maths) Fri 8th ;

Term 1

Marvellous Me!

We have had a busy first full week at nursery! This week we have spent some time getting to know our teachers and making lots of new friends! We have thoroughly enjoyed playing with the toys in our nursery and getting to enjoy our brilliant outside area too! Please speak to any staff member if you need any support or guidance with starting Nursery.
